The new feature of the company’s Rosemount® Analytical X-STREAM™ O2 analyzer helps customers maintain accurate oxygen measurements. Today’s sustained fuel price increases are causing boiler and furnace operators to examine ways to reduce oxygen in their flue gas to achieve higher efficiencies and lower nitrogen oxide and greenhouse gas emissions. Accurate flue gas oxygen measurements are critical to attaining these goals. "Numerous variables can create inaccuracies in oxygen measurements resulting in less efficient combustion control and wasted fuel," said Doug Simmers, product manager for Rosemount Analytical Gas Division of Emerson. "Extensive testing regarding these variables led to the development of AccuMax technology for the X-STREAM O2 analyzer, which offers industry leading accuracy and stability." The performance-enhancing AccuMax technology includes an internal mechanical assembly that stabilizes cell temperature, increasing oxygen measurement accuracy. AccuMax also incorporates a Calibration-Recommended Diagnostic which identifies when the probe requires calibration, eliminating the need to do calibrations on a periodic basis. According to Simmers, "The Calibration-Recommended Diagnostic saves time and calibration gas, and ensures that the operator always has an accurate analyzer.
